A Doncaster-based online bathroom retailer, Victoria Plum, is making its television debut with a captivating ad campaign starring their brand ambassador, presenter Helen Skelton. The first advertisement went live on August 7, marking an exciting milestone for the company.
The campaign features four 30-second ads, set to be broadcast on Sky and Channel 4’s video on demand service. Complementing the TV promotion, the company plans to bolster its outreach through online advertising and a mix of paid and organic social media engagements.
In each ad, viewers can see Helen Skelton in a room adorned with a selection of Victoria Plum’s bathroom products. With a touch of humour, each edit concludes with a witty punchline delivered by Helen herself, including an unscripted moment involving a rubber duck.
Nigel Hunter, the marketing director, emphasised the choice of Helen as the inaugural brand ambassador. Her vibrant and authentic personality mirrors the company’s values and resonates with their customers. Nigel remarked, “Our TV ads capture her personality, raise a smile and communicate how we want to enable our customers to realise their bathroom dreams as easily as possible.”
The initial concept for the TV ad campaign was devised by Victoria Plum’s in-house marketing team, further developed by Supersonic, a creative agency based in Leeds. The advertisements were directed by Chris Bartle and produced by Active Pictures, another Leeds-based entity.
Victoria Plum holds the distinction of being the UK’s largest online-only bathroom retailer. With a workforce of around 400 employees, the company has achieved impressive sales figures of £113 million.
