Pupils, staff, parents, and local businesses unite to repaint Doncaster school block

The Doncaster community rallied for two days to repaint Armthorpe Academy’s South Block, marking the start of the new term with a refreshed look.

The school organised a Community Action Day during the summer break, bringing together local businesses, students, families, and staff to enhance the learning environment.

The initiative aimed to create a more inspiring space for students and strengthen ties between the academy and the local community.

Headteacher David Bisley led the effort, with volunteers working to give the South Block a new lease of life.

The two-day event was deemed a success, with participants praising the positive atmosphere and community spirit.

Encouraged by this, the academy plans to run more community engagement activities in the future, aiming to maintain strong connections with local businesses and families.

Local firms, including Go Green, an eco-friendly waste management company, played a key role in the project.

A Go Green representative said, “We are proud to support Armthorpe Academy in this initiative.”

Their contribution, alongside many families and staff, ensured the work was completed to a high standard.

Headteacher David Bisley remarked: “A positive learning environment is vital for our students’ success. The South Block transformation has boosted both students and staff as we begin the new school year.”

He continued, “We’re grateful for the community’s support and it’s been heartening to see everyone come together. This is just the start of what we can achieve by working together.”
