Temporary traffic lights will soon be installed on Doncaster Road outside Costcutter in Armthorpe to facilitate access for a new housing development.
The works will include creating a new entrance to the estate on the opposite side of the road.
There is no timeframe on when this will start, but it will be in the coming weeks.
Local counciler Tim Needham said
“There are no plans or agreements to remove the pedestrian refuge in the middle of the road.
There are no dates or time lines agreed for start or length of the work to create vehicle access to the site. A S278 application (The legal bit to change a road layout) has not yet been submitted. Please see the approved plan bekow. When updates are available I will share them.”
Update: This article has been updated following an update from Tim. The article incorrectly stated that the central reservation will be removed.
