Community Volunteers Bring Colour to Mexborough Railway Station

Volunteers of all ages have come together to maintain Mexborough railway station, ensuring it remains vibrant and full of life. Pensioners and children alike have contributed by tending to the colourful platform plants throughout the summer. Regular visits to water the flowers have helped them flourish.

Frank Knapton, James Mark McGregor, his wife Clare, and their grandchildren Hunter and Harper have played key roles in this effort, making weekly trips to keep the station in bloom. Their dedication has been vital in creating a welcoming environment for travellers passing through the station.

The local community has rallied behind the initiative, turning the station into a cherished space for all.
