Plans for Eastern European Food Store on Wheatley Hills Industrial Estate Approved

Doncaster Council has approved an application to open a new Eastern European food store within an existing warehouse on Shaw Lane Industrial Estate in Wheatley Hills.

The store will occupy 299sqm of space within units one to four of the warehouse, currently used by Donney European, a wholesaler specialising in Polish and Romanian food products. The retail space will offer goods directly from the existing wholesale operation.

A previous application, proposing a significantly larger retail space, was rejected in June due to concerns that a full-scale supermarket was unnecessary for the area. The revised, smaller proposal has now been approved.

Minor internal and external alterations will be made to the site, including the construction of new walls and the removal of an outbuilding. The existing car park will also be upgraded with additional spaces and electric vehicle charging points.

The store will operate from 9am to 9pm Monday to Saturday, and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
