Pint-Sized Doncaster Coffee Shop Reopens After Roadworks Forced Temporary Closure

Brew Box, a small but popular Doncaster coffee shop, has reopened after being temporarily forced to close due to roadworks. Located outside Doncaster Royal Infirmary, the compact café had to shut its doors during ongoing improvements to Thorne Road, which made it impractical and unsafe to remain open.

Earlier this week, a spokesperson for the café explained, “Unfortunately, we have had to make the decision to close the shop – due to the extensive work going on around the building it is not practical nor safe to stay open.”

Brew Box first opened in summer 2022 in a converted police box, serving a variety of hot and cold drinks as well as snacks. Despite its small size, the café quickly became a local favourite, known for its convenient location and unique setting.

The coffee shop is situated at the busy junction of Thorne Road and Armthorpe Road, in a former mini police station. The building once served as a rest stop for officers, a place to file reports, and even to hold suspects until back-up could arrive. Now, Brew Box provides a different kind of service to the community, offering quick refreshments for those passing by.

With the roadworks complete, Brew Box is back in business, ready to serve customers once again.
